Asus Home Server, changed features RRS feed

    I just bought an Asus Home Server, and it seemed to have changed some features found on a retail Microsoft Home Server for DIY. The remote access URL now needs to go through Asus and charged with annual fee. Some other remote access features were not found in the user manual either.

    Can I still obtain the URL through Microsoft for this Asus Home Server and avoid the annual fee? Also, can I recover these reduced features, if they were really taken off by Asus?

    "Not in the user manual" doesn't mean "not available". Have you looked for these features in the interface?

    That said, if Asus has removed the ability to obtain a homeserver.com address, I don't think there will be any other way to do so. Addresses in that domain are only available through the interface in the console.

    I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
