  • In this reply, I just capitaized the similarities in our problems. Dont worry, Im not shouting

I have the ALMOST EXACT same problem. I was using Windows Media Player while it was WORKING PERFECTLY and I CLOSED IT. I try to open it, but now when I press the toolbar shortcut, It just becomes a light orange for A FEW SECONDS, then fades. I also got the computer YESTERDAY, very similar to your problem. I am very frustrated with Windows 7, especially because I bought this computer two days ago. Windows needs to fix the simple problems first before they begin fixing very detailed problems.

    1. Right Click on the Task Bar (the tray below your screen)
    2. Select Task Manager
    3. Browse to Windows Media Player
    4. Right Click on it (ie, WMP)
    5. Click on End Process
    6. Then re-start your WMP.
