CRM Outlook-client keeps asking for username and password - Vista RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have problem with the outlook-clients that are running Windows Vista, always are asked for username and password when they entering a crm-page.

If they are using the web-client, there are have no problem.

The crm-server is added in trusted-site and the automatic logon with current username/password is activated.

  • With IE 7 there is a security feature that can prevent CRM from auto logon.  Here is how to correct it:

    1.    Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.

    2.    Locate and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_SUBDOWNLOAD_LOCKDOWN

    3.    Right-click Outlook.exe, and then click Modify.

    4.    In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK.

  • The prompting is from the server side, whoever has control of the server, have them go into IIS, CRM website, click Authentication, right click Windows Authentication and make sure Kernal Mode is enabled.
