Fan won't stop, always on HIGH RRS feed

  • Question

  • New to Windows Home Server here.

So far my old desktop had no problem installing. Even supported the add on video card it had. Only one problem so far, the CPU/Power Supply Fans(can't realy tell which one yet) are always on high. It probably wouldn't be a problem if it was tucked away in an attic, but I have it in a closet and you can still here it.

Question is, when the original OS was install, there must have been some monitoring program that shifted the Fans on/off/hi/low, I thought it was the BIOS that controled it. didn't think this would be a problem.

Is there a way to control the fan speed within the WHS OS?

The Desktop is an old Sony VAIO PCV-RX640, 1.3Ghz.
