How to reset to default settings in MS Project 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello, I have read the post on resetting project 2010 settings, but am unable to find the path that is given to access the HKEY file because it appears to be incomplete.

Can someone please post step-by-step instructions on how to restore all project settings to default? Please do not respond with delete the global template in Roaming folder or reinstall because those 2 do not work.

    Thanks.

  • Hi Jessese,

I just ran into this problem after the many configuration and setting changes I did with Project 2013 for writing my Project 2013 and Project Server 2013 courses.

I just created a new blog post on my website that details the 2 steps you will need to perform in order to reset to the original settings when you first installed Project 2013.

Have a look at it and hopefully it works for you.

  • As far as I know the reg keys for 2013 Project settings are in the same location but 15.0 instead of 14.0 - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\MS Project\Options. When you say the HKEY is incomplete, please explain. The supported approach would be to uninstall and reinstall I guess as deleting the reg keys are risky.
