Win 7 Upgrade Activation RRS feed

  • Question

  • I bought a 3 pack win 7 home premium retail upgrade package. I originally installed 2 copies. One machine had a motherboard fail so I reloaded the system and did the upgrade a second time on this machine. Now when I try to use the third copy it says it cannot activate and that the software is not genuine. I bought 3 copies and am not allowed to use on 3 machines. What is wrong, is there a way to fix or am I just out of luck by going to Windows 7? I am only trying to use on 3 machines. I paid for 3 copies. I fear that absolutely no one at Microsoft will answer the phone, if I call. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.

  • Activate by phone and tell the operator what happened.  Click Start and type 'slui.exe 4' in the Search/Run box.
