Is it possible to create an annoucement using a workflow? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Each time an article is created, a deal is won, or a case is opened/closed I want to create an annoucement and display it to all users, is this possible?

I would like to make the anncouement page the default one for all users without going into each profile.

  • You might need to write custom Workflow activity to do it.

The entity behind announcement is businessunitnewsarticle. It should be quite easy. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc677090.aspx has an example about how to create a CRM record in custom workflow activity, which should be able to get your started.

  • Hi Jad

You can change the default landing page by going to "Tools -> Options" or clicking the "Personalize Workplace". On the general tab, you can set the default pane and the default tab. Remember this must be done for each user (but they can do it themselves).

  • I hoped to do it without custom development, but if this is the only way then we shall go for it.

Any way to make the annoucement page the default page for all users without accessing each accoutn?
