Microsoft Money Deluxe 2005 won't work on my new Windows 10 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, First off, I am not tech savvy. I have tried to follow the posts and threads with no luck. Is there a way I can use my original Money CD on my new computer? If not, is there a download link that isn't expired? I have backed up the money files from my old computer which was Vista Premium. I've used Money since 2004 and really need to get I to my new computer. Thanks.

  • No, you cannot use your Money 2005 Cd to install Money.  The version on that CD needs an online update that is no longer available.

The good news is that you can download a free version of Money that will open your Money 2005 file.  See the second "sticky" thread in this forum:

and download and install the version that you need.  If you are in the US, that will be US Money Deluxe Sunset.  LInks to other version are also there if you are not in the US.

If the version you need is US Money Deluxe Sunset, then there is an additional step.  You need to replace one file, mnyob99.dll, with a patched version.  You can download that from the first "sticky" thread in this forum:

if you need help with doing that replacement, read through that thread or look at Ameridan's instructions that are here:

Post back if you need more detail or let us know if this works for you.
