Windows isn't valid now?

Question
-
I was updating my internet security with AVG 2011 when this problem arose. I have had my computer for nearly 11 years and it has been an XP for about 6. When the update finished, I got a box in the bottom-right side of my monitor that said I was not using a valid version of windows, and now I only have (as of this minute) 1 1/2 days left to fix it or I'm not sure what will happen. Thinking that windows was just updating as well, I clicked the link and it took me to the microsoft site where I could get my validation. It failed for some unknown reason and I cannot validate it without purchasing again now? I don't know what to do. My father's suggestion is to wipe the hard drive and start over, but I would only like this to be a last resort. What should I do? I really wouldn't like to lose my precious old comp.Monday, January 3, 2011 4:38 PM

To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.
