I shall certainly do a search Ken, as my VAIL server is no longer backing any of my 4 PC's up, in fact it is now totally useless, there does not seem to be an option in the normal Dashboard to erase all the backup database and start again, I feel the other two (recovery) discs coming out for an airing.
Ooooh look what you find if you RTF(Known Issues) above !!! d'oh
1. On the Windows Server “Vail” computer, click Start, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.
2. At the command prompt, type CD C:\Program Files\Windows Server\Bin, and then press Enter.
3. Type backupcontroller.exe /sg, and then press Enter. A list of options for working with the backup database is displayed.
4. To select the Start Repair option, type 8, and then press Enter. The backup repair operation runs.
5. To review the results of the repair, type 10, and then press Enter.
6. To exit the application, type 11, and then press Enter.
7. To close the Command Prompt window, type Exit at the command prompt, and then press Enter.
c:\Program Files\Windows Server\Bin>backupcontroller.exe /sg
Options :
1. Show Backup Configuration
2. Set Daily Retain Count
3. Set Weekly Retain Count
4. Set Monthly Retain Count
5. Get Running Operation Status
6. Start Consistency Checker
7. Stop Consistency Checker
8. Start Repair
9. Stop Repair
10. Get Repair Result
11. Exit

It's a known missing feature of this build. You'll have to wait until they release another build (no idea when that will be)Thursday, June 24, 2010 8:28 PM

Thats handy :) I take it for now we just ignore the error or is there a work around just in case there is an actual database error (I am not sure there is !!!)Friday, June 25, 2010 8:14 AM

Do a search. I think someone from Microsoft posted a way to trigger a repair.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)Saturday, June 26, 2010 1:22 AMModerator -

Please submit a bug on Connect, with server logs collected with the Vail log collector tool.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)Sunday, June 27, 2010 1:19 AMModerator -
Have done now Ken, hopefully in the right format and with the correct logs :)
Hopping someone has some idea here though as to a fix or workaround.

Hi all,
there is an answer over on the Connect site, basically I did not leave it running long enough as it may take several hours and using the command prompt tool there is no indication of time left or if it is even running so am leaving it for a bit with task manager up and watching the process itself there. Will let you all know how it goes.
