Consolidate 2 drives into 1 larger drive RRS feed

  • Question

Hi, I currently have 2 drives 160gb and 120gb in my home server, I'm currently backing up 4 pc's and 2 laptops and with all our music family pics programs etc all stored on the server i have 60% free. I'm planning to build a new box for my home server using a small form factor case. I want to replace the two hard drives with one 500Gb drive. I'm unable to find any information anywhere how (if possible) to move the information from the 2 drives to the new one. Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • You just copy from the shares on your current server to the shares on your new server. It's not the fastest method, but it's way easier than anything else.
