Question

I purchased Office 2007 Standard at the local Best Buy where I bought a laptop with Vista Business on it.
Office seems to install just fine, but when I type in the product key but the "2007 Microsoft Office system" window tells me it is not valid. Help!Saturday, August 25, 2007 8:39 PM

Hello,
We request all users initially run the Genuine Diagnostics tool to try and identify the issue you may be having.
Download and run the utility at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 , then click the Windows tab, Copy to Clipboard, then paste the report into a New Post on this Forum.
Step 2 is tell us about the COA. Tell us:
1. What edition of Windows XP is it for, Home, Pro, or Media Center?
2. Does it read "OEM Software" or "OEM Product" in black lettering?
3. Or, does it have the computer manufacturer's name in black lettering?
4. DO NOT post the Product Key.
5. Please also provide a short description of the issue you are experiencing.NOTE: The data collected with the Genuine Diagnostics Tool does NOT contain any information that can personally identify you and can be fully reviewed, by you, before being posted.
Thank you,

Hello D.O.T.
Can you run the diagnostic test and post your results back in this thread? The directions are the last post in this thread I was working with another poster.
Thank you.

Office Standard 2007 product key has 2-zeroes in it and when I type it in, I get a message that says "no zeros" and truncates. I'm not sure if I have the correct key but including hyphens it's the only 26 character alfanumeria around.

Hello Stephen. I am having a similar problem. I purchased an OEM copy of MS Office Professional 2007 (medialess with only a CD case & sticker) with my new Vista desktop. Unfortunately I had to return it to the supplier to get some hardware issues resolved. when it came back the hard drive was cleaned & didn't have the OEM version of the s/w installed.
I thought i'd download the trial version & attempt to get it installed - it simply doesn't let me go past the product key entry screen. the message i get is: "This key is incorrect. Verify that you have the correct key, and then retype it."
the results from running the diagnostic s/w is included below.
Please advise.
many thanks,
Sanjay.
