Bridging network connections RRS feed

  • Question

  • I upgraded my home server a while ago with a new Dell server which has two NIC.  This has caused some problems because they have different IP addresses.  I was going to bridge them but can't figure out how.  I did some somewhere that Win2K3 does not support bridging but I am sure I have done it before.  Can anybody suggest a way around this.

Note I have been adding the server name and IP address to the routing tables of the clients which helps but only a little.

  • The best thing to do is simply disable (or disconnect) one NIC. Bridging, in the home environment, isn't going to improve performance significantly.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
