CRM 3.0 with basic authentication? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

Does anyone know if it is possible to use CRM 3.0 with IIS basic authentication ?

I have the following problem: with Windows Integrated Authentication, it is necessary to type the domain name next to the username in order to log in CRM. I would like to prevent users from having to type the domain to authenticate.

We are proposing to use CRM through SSL along with the basic authentication. Someone has managed this successfully? Is there another solution to this problem?

    Thanks for your help

  • Dear,

CRM 3.0 is using windows authentication, you can use the SSL while installation, there will be no issue for this.. and even you can use your login and password base on user, its called SQL Server authentication.

For more see MS CRM Implementation guide chapter Installation.

Microsoft says it's not supported in CRM 3.0, however, it's a possible solution and if you contect their CustomerSource who will provide some ideas for your case.
