    Manage to fix it after checking one of the link dave provide by adding following key at registry

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Network\Z]
    "ProviderFlags"=dword:00000001

  • Sounds more like an auth issue than connection. Ensure that you have "Save Credentials" checked off. If you dont, it will only work for that session. If you save it, it will be stored in your Windows Credentials Store (I dont remember the name off the top of my head) and it will take a second to authenticate when you click the mapped drive, but it shouldnt give you any issues

    So:

    1. Remove mapped drive
    2. Remap drive
    3. ensure "Save Credentials" is set
    4. ...
    5. Profit!

    (On the other end, depending on what you are sharing, I would set permissions to everyone and make things easy. That is, if there is no sensitive data on there)

    Edit: Thought it was 2008 not 2003. Do a "map a network location" instead of "Map a network Drive". For whatever reason it has worked for me in the past
