Only the PMs know and they're not talking. We'll get it when they decide we
    should get it. :)

  • Bump.   This beta/build is now three months old and I'm sure I'm not the only one that want's a new version to beta test.   ETA of a new build = ? ? ?

Side Note: Just used baremetal restore on my wife's desktop to a new HD.  Work like a charm other than being a little slow.

Some day. Presumably. The answer hasn't changed.

I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

  • Sorry, but that's not good enough Ken.  I know you can't speak for Microsoft, that’s why I'd like to see what they have to say.   Windows 7 went from Beta to RTM in 6 months with multiple releases to the community.  Vista was similar, but lasted about a year.   We've had a Beta release 3 months ago and haven’t gotten a lot of feedback.  I've personally verified three different bugs I've seen were submitted.  Were they fixed? Can I get a QEF? Install a new build release that resolves them?  Should I spend my time elsewhere?

Vail is a feature set built upon a pre-existing OS, not a new kernel from the ground up.

Well then I guess you should move on to something else. I tested both WHS
V1 and am now testing Vail and not once has the product team responded to
    these types of questions.

You're simply not going to get an official answer to your question, you'll
just need to deal with that fact.

Three months isn't very long at all for a build. As Wendy would say,
"Patience, Grasshopper!" As has been said many times, a new build will be
distributed when it's ready, and not before. All the grinching in the world
won't make the Team release anything until it's time.

I was on the Win 7 beta from January through July 2009; however, it had been
ongoing for quite some time by then. Prior to the time I got my invitation
(at least a year), participation was limited to certain groups, made up of
mostly large corporations before it was released the "technical beta
testers". Six months of testing is just not gonna cut it with an OS as good
    as Win 7.

I was on the Vista beta from July 2005 to RTM sometime around November 2006.
Vista and Office 2007 launched in January 2007. That's around a year and a
half, and again, I wasn't in on the original distribution of the beta.
