I use OneCare on a desktop and laptop computer in a OneCare circle. The central backup device is a 1TB USB drive on the desktop. I normally sleep my computers when not using them. At the scheduled time for laptop back up, if the desktop is in Sleep mode, OneCare cannot do the backup, which is reasonable.
The recovery is really painful. It takes at least 7 mouse clicks to start the backup as well as an extended pause while OneCare tries to work out what to save. Why can't OneCare try again using the automatic settings, say every 15 or 30 minutes?
There is no provision for One Care to automatically start a missed scheduled backup. All I can suggest is to schedule backups for a time when your computers are most likely to be on.Jim - MVP Windows Live - Forum Moderator - Live One Care - Live Mesh
