Form Authentication RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

Just now we implemented EPM 2010 in our office. There are 50 employees working in our company.40 employees out of 50 are working in different client places e.g) 20 employees working in ABC LTD and another 20 employees working in XYZ LTD. I want to ask them enter the timesheet those who are working in our office and as well as client place.

Those who are working in our office (10 employees) i added those resources based on Windows Authentication for entering PWA there is no problem in that

My query is remaining 40 employees i suggest Forms Authentication and i search for the same in google. I got links for Forms authentication. Links are given below

    1. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee922607.aspx

    2. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee922605.aspx

Could tell me which i want to follow above these 2 links. If you have better solution than this then you can suggest me....

Let me know if anything else is required

  • Hi, It depends on where you want to store the credentials of the users who use Forms Authentication. If you want to store them in AD, choose the 1st URL, if you want to store them in SQL, use the 2nd. I would suggest before you choose which route, spend some time reading up on Forms Authentication. A quick search using BING brings up lots of URLs, you could try this one for starters. http://blogs.technet.com/b/speschka/archive/2009/11/05/configuring-forms-based-authentication-in-sharepoint-2010.aspx
