off topic - IP address conflict RRS feed

  • I started getting a message today.  Windows-System Error  There is an IP address conflict with another system on the network.  I don't know how to fix this and I'm having troubled with my internet connection.  Can anyone help?

    What that message means is that you and another computer on the same network, if you are behind a home router, are using the same IP address. If you are directly connected to the Internet, your Internet provider has issued two identical IP addresses to you and another customer when you connected. This will cause access issues. Reboot your PC and this should resolve the problem.
