Cannot open ssm files - Mappoint 2013 + add-in for SQL Server (SQL Server 2008) - error "Assertion failed Invalid Extent"

  When loading a * ssm file I get the error "Assertion failed Invalid Extent: |! | 47.490008 | | 9.111209 | | 47.869227 | | 9.847723 | |". 
  The layer and database connections are not loaded.
