using Fix IT to uninstall Spy Hunter RRS feed

  • Question

  • I could not get rid of this anti-malware program by using Windows 7 Controlpanel/Uninstall, so I tried Microsoft Fix It instead. It took a long time and  the progress bar gave me no clue  how far it had got. Just some colour moving backwards  and forth. In fact it looked as if it would never end, so I broke it off before it was finished.

Afterwards, to my amazement,  when I was searching for Spy Hunter on the harddisk, it was gone. How is that possible or could there still be traces of it on the machine? The reason I am asking this question is that I am going to install Microsoft Security Essentials and

I have  been adviced to delete all other anti-virus and -malware programs due to possible conflict issues.
