If you are not using domain admin to install crm, you may refer to this http://ameedsheikh.wordpress.com/2010/08/05/mscrm-4-0-installation-with-minimum-permissions-elaborated/
I prepared this document specially for a domain admin to give the exactly needed permissions to installing user.

It might be that the last installation that failed created the organization (with databases) but did not really succeed in provisioning it to the users. Did you uninstall it completely before reinstall? you should also delete the databases created by the failed installation. I have recently done 5 installations of CRM 4.0 on win 2008 R2 servers with SQL Server 2008 R2 all 64 bit environment. I followed this article> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950100. I hope you also go with that.
I have prepared scripts for my installation based on a number of failed attempts in the beginning and following articles. For example, you may have to create an empty website for reportingserver on the server where your reporting services are installed. This is because with 2005 reporting services were exposed as iis website on http ports. But with 2008 they are exposed as TCP services. CRM installation and deployment manager expects that a proper iis http website should be there. I use following to create an empty site
:: Create ReportServer empty website in IIS
:: Note if port 80 is being used already, select a different port, but REMEMBER to use this port in Reporting Services Configuration interfaces and xRM installation script
mkdir c:\_reportserver_emptysite_MSSQLSERVER02
c:\Windows\System32\inetsrv\appcmd.exe add site /name:"ReportServer_MSSQLSERVER02" /id:20 /physicalPath:"c:\_reportserver_emptysite_MSSQLSERVER02" /bindings:http/*:81:- Proposed as answer by ameed sheikh Thursday, August 5, 2010 7:52 AM

Also i use this article too: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/946677
these two articles explain pretty much all for one to understand the installation requirements

Hi Ameed,
of course i followed this article and after the first unsuccessful installation, i have done uninstall and removed the database manually.
in my first post i forgot to mention that the organization created in status pending (deployment manager)
after the instalation i tried to login to the crm website and got the error : invalid user authentication
i checked the report server , and this site was enabled also.
any other ideas?
thanks,
