Trouble with Microsoft Sync Framework and Syncing local files with a Remote Server and File/Dir revisions. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have the Remote Server provider written and I have a simple LocalFileSyncProvider written, but I not sure just how the synchronization works.

In my LocalFileSyncProvider I have my metadata with a revision key once it is synced with the Remote Server, but it seems to me that everytime I run another synchronization it is using the items returned from EnumerateItems(Which will not have a revision key set).

I understand that new local files should not have a revision key, but existing and unmodified files since the last synchro should use the previous stored information or is that wrong?

Does anyone have an example of a Custom FileSyncProvider that works with info passed down from the RemoteServer to the local and reusable.

I guess what I'm trying to do is write a Local File Sync provider for a DropBox like server which supports file revisions.

    Thanks in advance.
