Windows Home Server 2011 and the Turtle Beach Audiotron RRS feed

  • Question

  • The Turtle Beach Audiotron was a internet tuner which has the ability to access music media files stored on a PC as well as internet radio stations.  It's O/S is based on Windows CE.  The last version of the firmware 3.2.25 gives you the ability to compile and store a internet radio station list on a local computer.  Previously with WinXP it configured with not problems.  With Windows Home Server I get an error:

Found Host HOME-PC in group WORKGROUP @
Found Host MAUDEFRICKERT in group WORKGROUP @
    Host HOME-PC found at IP
    \\HOME-PC - Error accessing host, Error = 50
    Host MAUDEFRICKERT found at IP
    \\MAUDEFRICKERT - Error accessing host, Error = 50

    Maudefrickert being the WHS2011 Server.

I found a blog by Dave Glover explaining how to tweak Windows Server 2008 to make the Auditron work.  I curious to know if this would also apply to WHS2011 and how risky these "adjustments" are as he explains it will leave you more vulnerable.
