Win7 Validation Error / No MS Update RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

I installed Win7 on my laptop after my HDD was switched last april. After 2 months of use without trouble I got my first validation message. I know I have a valid installation (got mine from my university) so i kept ignoring the message, because I didn't notice any change in behaviour and I used my laptop only rarely. If I go to the windows validation homepage and try to install the update i get the 0xC8000247 error

Today I realised that my last MS Update is from June, so I tried to reactivate the updating process but it was not possible. Now I am almost sure that those two topics are related.

Any help would be highly apreciated

  • This may simply be caused by a bad set of Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers -

Installing the Intel Rapid Storage Drivers

try downloading and installing them from here - http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=21730

    (you want the iata_enu.exe download)

Once complete, please reboot twice, then post another MGADiag report.

  • I wouldn't have imagined that there would be such a simple solution, spent almost a day trying proposed fixes!

Thx for your time and advice!

(I knew that fact would be noticed by your eagle eyes :D as soon as I have finished my studies I'll purchase one -- promise!)
