  • Dear livedead,

Thank you for your interest in the Buy Local program. It appears that you are not eligible because you did not purchase your machine from a system builder, as indicated in your diagnostic report:

    Windows License Type: OEM SLP

Upon further investigation it appears you purchased your system from Hewlett-Packard.

Please let me know if you have further questions or comments.

    Thank you,

    Jenifer

  • Your MGA report indicates you have a HP computer with a HP preinstalled version of Windows Vista.  HP is a major OEM supplier and is not eligible for the Bonus Pack Offer.  Please review the following:
How can I tell if the copy of Microsoft Windows that was installed on my computer is eligible for the BONUS PACK offer?: http://www.localpcbuilder.com/eligible/

so I bought a $1500.00 computer with Vista Home Premium already installed from frys.

Frys was on the list as I saw it but is not one of the places I needed to buy my computer from to get the bonus pac.

So this thread is ending with me not getting my bonus pac stuff because I bought my computer from the wrong system builder.

Even though I am a regitsered system builder my self, and the part number on my VHP  is the qualifying part number. I think.

All I know is I did the beta testing, got the email about the presents, bought a computer with VHP and got nothing.

Just endless emails back and forth about parts and system builders and badges.

I ended up getting tired of sending back the same information, over and over, answering the same questions,

the last person asked me. Why cant real time be brought into this life as well. I know I could deal with it...... maby.

It would be hard to get used to it at first,

but I can do what I can with what I have and just not go away.

Just a thought from shawn dyokas. aka livedead@comcast.net

  • Fry's is not a system builder...they are a retailer.

  • No ***. I'm not stupid. Fry's WAS on the list of places that you could buy from and receive a bonus pack. I have a printed ticket stating that.

  • Hi livedead,

I also recall Fry's previously being on the list. Did you receive the e-mail I sent you?
