backup files=backing them up RRS feed

  • My windows live care will update:,, saying back files ,it will show I have "files that need to be backed-up"-fine ! I do this-then before you know it_ I am spending time an money backing up files AGAIN +++WHY??!I have NO IDEA why! live-care is saying that files need to be backed up .How do I COLLECT "THESE FILES THAT NEED BACKING UP"???? (and How do I know WHICH ONES ???? this seems like a 'Neverending Story'.

  • You can configure backup to run less frequently or disable it completely if you wish. If you do this, though, you may lose data if your computer fails and you don't have the data backed up.

    You can specify what files you wish to backup or not backup.

     

    Open OneCare

    Click Change Settings

    backup tab

    Click Configure Backup

    Click change settings in the lower left

    Make sure that the first screen for Centralized Backup has "No Centralized backup" selected

    Click your PC on the left.

     

    To disable backup, Uncheck the selection for "Turn on backup for this PC."

    Click Next and save the revised plan.

     

    or

     

    Modify the schedule as desired for "When"

    Select the file types as desired for "What"

    Click next and save the revised plan with the new selection.
