Remoter Laptop will not back up with One Care RRS feed

  • Question

  • My wifes laptop will not back up to the Mass Storage Hard Drive connected to the PC hub by USB cable.
    I have backed her computer up before, but now get a message that her computer can't find the mass storage back up disk.  I even tried to connect the remote hard drive directly by the USB  cable and it still would not back up

    Has something changed in my hub computer, do I need to change some settings?

    Thank you for visiting the OneCare program forums.

     

    Make sure that the backup device is turned on and verify that the backup device  is connected as part of your OneCare.

    Open OneCare > click on the OneCare circle > Make sure all the computer are part of the circle > If not, make you may need to reinstall OneCare.

     

    If all of your computers on the circle as PC hubs, check to make sure each computer is connected to the network.

    Finally verify that your network is configured as a Home or Work Zone.

     

    1. Open OneCare

    2. Click Change Settings

    3. Click on the Firewall Tab

    4. Click on Configure Firewall

    5. Make sure your zone appears as Home or Work.
