  • You back up data in selected shared folders on the server by selecting the server in the console and after that clicking Backup Now.
This does not include the Client Backups.

Thanks for your reply.  Is there anyway to backup the Client Backup?

  • There is no supported way to do so, no. If you install the Backup DataBase Backup add-in, it adds that capability.

  • Hi David,
besides what Ken just said and I was about to type, you can also run a batch file on your server, like:

    net stop PDL
    net stop WHSBackup
    xcopy D:\folders\{00008086-058D-4C89-AB57-A7F909A47AB4} e:\WHSBackupCopy
(if E: is the drive letter of your external disk, otherwise change it to fit to your server, also create the folder WHSBackupCopy or another folder before)
    net start WHSBackup
    net start PDL

(Instead of xcopy you could also use robocopy.)

  • Olaf, you may not know this, but that's pretty much what the BDBB add-in does. However, it does it through the console, which is "less unsupported" than remote desktop.

I would not use xcopy for this purpose; I would prefer robocopy. But that's mostly because I'm more used to using robocopy at this point.
