You did not read the FAQ carefully, my friend. As the FAQ clearly says, the system will not allow you to delete enterprise resources if they are included in one or more Resource Plans. Do you understand what a Resource Plan is, and how this is different from a project plan? If you are not using Resource Plans in Proposals, then the system WILL allow you to delete enterprise resources, even if they are assigned to projects as team members and to tasks in those projects.
In step (a), your query will reveal the resources you can delete safely. Step (b) does not matter, so do not worry about it as it will not affect any task assignments. So, delete those unnecessary resources with all due haste! :) Hope this helps.

Project Server 2007 will allow you to delete enterprise resources that are still assigned to projects and still have upcoming task assignments. In projects in which the deleted resource has task assignments, the system will convert the enterprise resource to a local resource. So, what you are seeing is NOT a bug, but by design. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dale,I was looking following URL and it says that we can not delete such resources.Btw as you confirmed and I am seeing it with my application,I am convinced that PS allows to do so.
Dale,we are in situation where we want to delete resources from resource pool(as there are lot of unnecessary resources ),what would be best approach to do,so that we can avoid any further problems due to resource clean up.
I am following below steps
a) queried all users from reporting databases who don't have even a single assignment.
b) I am not sure what to do for resource who are included in project plan but not assigned to any tasks/assignment.
I am not sure how to get resources in item 'b'! could you please suggest if we can write any query to figure out such resources.I read somewhere that we can get them using MSP_Portfolio_Analyzer cube in data analysis view but unfortunately we are not using analysis services, hence I don't the cube.
