For some reason, your machine is unable to properly read the BIOS SLIC table which allows the OEM_SLP key to check validity. Normally, the fix is to use the COA_SLP key - but you say the label is unreadable.
You can try flashing the BIOS with an appropriate update - it may kick things back into position.
you MUST make sure that the BIOS update you download is both compatible with your machine, and designed for Win Vista (one for Win 7 will NOT work!)

  •  Thank you    Noel Paton for your reply, sorry about the delay, my frustration level had reached the breaking point and I had to get away from the computer before it goes flying out the window(WINDOWS VISTA and all).

I will attempt what you have suggested,BIOS update, and continue to try to solve this problem.

Willl try to keep you advised of the situation.

  • Noel Paton,

I have downloaded and installed updated BIOS ver 1.80 as you have suggested from Toshiba and I'm still getting error message.

Do you think I have to reboot sytem again to original factory state with new BIOS?

That may work - but it also may not, it's certainly worth trying.
Don't forget to back up ALL your data first, and the product license keys (or whatever) for all the applications you have installed!
Please post a new report first - we may be able to see something different.
