windows 2000 pro will not accept key RRS feed

  • Question

  • I  have the CD for windows 2000 pro and the product key numbers, but it will not take the numbers, says they are invalid. What can i do to get these numbers to be accepted? I am installing them on a used hard drive that I replaced in a laptop. The program loaded ok til I got to the product key entry and there I I'm stuck. Please help me out if you can without purchaseing a new program. Thank you.

  • Hello biigg53,

      Unfortunatly, I can't.

    1)  I would need to see the Product Key and you do NOT want to post your Product Key on a Public Forum where anyone could copy and use it.

    2) This is the Windows Genuine Advantage Support forum.  Windows 2000 is not supported by WGA.  Because of this, I have no training in Windows 2000, at all.

I believe Windows 2000 is past it's lifecycle, so I do not believe any Microsoft support is available for it, but I could be wrong.  Please see http://support.microsoft.com for any available support options.

Sorry I couldn't be more help,
