WHS on Aopen mp945-d having stop 7b error in text mode RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to use a AOpen MP945-D for a WHS server but after it preps the hard drive and reboots into text mode it gives a stop 7b error.  I have tried copying them to the usb jump drive that I am using to install WHS from with no luck.  I cannot use a floppy drive as this computer does not support it and I do not have any.  I have also tried integrating the drivers in with NLite with no luck either. I believe it uses an Intel 945GM + ICH7-DH Chipset.

Any help with this would be appreciated. Thanks

  • Hi,
stop 0x7B is usually caused by missing mass storage drivers - for WHS often caused by the fact, that Server 2003 as the core OS has no SATA controller drivers included.
You have two options here - either get the SATA controller drivers for Windows Server 2003 and provide them on a floppy drive by pressing F6, while that message is shown on bottom of the classic setup screen or change the settings of the SATA controller in Bios to IDE (ATA/PATA ...) compatibility mode.
    Best greetings from Germany
