  • Question

  • Hello Ed and Team,

Kindly refer to this thread  on Win XP Forums.

Here, one of the user had commented on the questions and just after that marked his post as "Propose answer"

Being the moderator of XP Forums, i had unmarked as proposed answer as its not the rights way. Also, i commented "

I think, replying and just marking you post as Propose answer is not the right way.  You could have waited for the OP to come back, if he/she does not returns back you can definitely mark your post as an answer or propose as an answer. This is not the case here only, its done in all your posts.

    This is clearly mentioned here"

Also, when i had removed the Proposed answer, an unknown new profile came into picture and again marked it as proposed answer. This account was just created when i had unmarked the proposed answer. This account has 0 activity, till that date. I suspect this account as fake. As described by one user in the same thread.

Post this, i got a reply "Prior to I have to agree different human beings have different perception. :) but I do have to admit that I have fired a lot of Indians in my previous job :) partly because of the incompetency that they have. There are just too many of them out there.. like those who are NATO = No action talk Only.. they should be eradicates.."

As of now I have marked his post as abusive. But I think some action should be taken by core/technet team on this.

These types of reply on global forums like Technet is not at all appreciated, moreover this type of language and racial discrimination should not be done.

Ed & Team, please look into this.

  • Hi,

I would recommend sending an email to fissues (at) microsoft [dot] com. That's probably the fastest way to get any official response.

    EDIT:

Seldom have I witnessed such a signature as that.

I completely agree. First time I saw it was over in the thread I have in my signature. I thought it was some kind of statement for that purpose, not a fulltime signature for every single post.

  • I thought that name was familiar. A similar thread about the same person here:

    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/edaeab01-018d-434d-909f-5ea3b2b535b2/report-guowen-su?forum=reportabug

Mr X had linked many examples. The suspicious activity should be investigated. I suspect several accounts used by the same person, or people working together.

Yes, that's what I'm suspecting. Multiple fake accounts and just spamming forums.

Can someone please guide here? I have mailed on mail ID given above, but no replies so far.

  • This is all not correct.

    • Abusive flag removed
    • Comment deleted
    • No action taken.

This is not what is expected.

Rather than tacking an action against the person, they are hiding everything.

  • Based on what I can tell, the user has been banned. His posts haven't disappeared yet, but if you check his profile his activity and avatar are gone.

  • Yes, just saw that. Appreciate all the support and effort from MS in banning this user.

The words used by Guowen Su were really unethical and full of racial discriminations.

    Thanks again.

  • Just to update all, the user is back. Just saw his profile. Will avtar and updates.

    Not sure what's happening here.

Looks like they reversed course and let him back in. I'd try emailing fissues again to see if you can get the story directly from the forums team.

  • I checked the profile activities for the user, and it requires explanation. I found the gallery postings by this user received 71 5-star ratings and 1 4-star ratings in the last 8 days. I found the submission "Microsoft Licensing Umbrella" (a pdf file by the way) received 4 5-star ratings in the last 13 hours plus 11 5-star ratings (and 1 4-star rating) 8 days ago. That makes no sense. It takes my scripts (which I am very proud of) years to get more than 10 4-star or 5-star ratings.

However, I was going to link the profile in this reply, but found it may have been banned again. I no longer can see the activity, so maybe your email prompted a quick response.

  • Yeah, I see the same thing. Activity list is empty again.

EDIT: Want to see how ridiculous his gallery activity was? See this post:

    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/edaeab01-018d-434d-909f-5ea3b2b535b2/report-guowen-su?forum=reportabug#9250d076-929e-44d9-84d8-34c1e318f457

EDIT2: I think the profile has been fully banned this time. Before I saw one of the autogenerated avatars in his profile, now I see nothing at all. Complete guess though.

  • Got this reply from fissues:

"Unfortunately I can’t see when he was reinstated with privileges to post, but I just banned him as well as deleted all of his posts/threads."
