windows xp home edition product key/xp proffesional installed on my pc RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I had virus on my computer a year ago so I had to format my computer and reinstall windows xp, but after i format my computer i notice I don't have a copy of windows xp home edition. So I had to borrow xp proffesional from my friend I know I used the trial product key when i installed it. So I'm just wondering if I could somehow use my old windows xp home edition product key to make my computer genuine.

  • The Windows XP Home Edition product key can only be used with a Windows XP Home Edition installation CD.  In your case, I would suggest purchasing a Windows XP Professional product key.
