error 1016 couldn't load lab RRS feed

  • Question

  • Just got this "Error 1016: An unknown error has occurred. Please close this window and click the Launch button again to resubmit your lab request. If the problem continues, contact usfor help."
This is the first time I have gotten this. It is about 2:30AM pacific time 2009-04-29. When I clicked the launch tab for lab 4 at this URL: https://itacademy.microsoftelearning.com/courseAccess/coursePlayer.aspx?courseId=112781&topicId=443842
I got the black screen and the working animation, then a grey screen with that error. Tried it three times.
I have been using this software for a couple weeks or so and have had other connection problems from time to time, but never this total inability to get to the labs. I am using IE7 on Vista w/ SP1, fully patched.

  • I just tried to launch the lab in course 4326  Intro to Transact-SQL, and received the same error message.  "Error 1016: An unknown error has occurred. Please close this window and click the Launch button again to resubmit your lab request. If the problem continues, contact usfor help."

I have tried multiple times and keep getting the same result.

I have tried off and on all day for a couple of days and always got the same error. I also sent information to Alicia as instructed but have not receive a response yet.

  • I'm getting the same problem with course 5082.

It seems to me, that if the error message is linked to this site, then we should expect the solution to be posted on this site, and not just a referal to an email by the moderator.

I think it would be a good idea, if the moderator, Tagore, could send an email explaining that a lot of people are getting this error, so that Alicia could arrange for the solution/explanation to be addressed in this thread. Something like "Hi, I've sent an email to microsoft  learning center and will post their reply as soon as I get it" would suffice.

It's a waste of bandwith having everyone send their own private e-mails. Anyways, if that's the way this forum works, then I'm sending an email to make sure that I get a timly response.

If I get a reply, I'll post it here

  • Hello, are there any news about the VLab problems? I just tried again and was able to start a VLab in course 2261. But after a short time the VLab gets unresponsive and now there is the rror 1009. I am using IE8, installed via the Windows Update function, on a WinXP Pro SP3 with all available updates installed. I have a 2 Mbits broadband connection.

I appreciate if there could be some information about the error being published here. Forum members might have an idea about it...

  • I can't get into my course offline player, or even access my lessons. i tried to uninstall it, couldn't. tried to re-install it, thinking maybe if something is wrong on my end it would repair-nothing! Just says I am not authorized. I scanned my whole computer thinking maybe i caught a virus. well if i did, its gone now. still can't access it. downloading Xactive. Again, nothing. I've been working on this for almost two weeks-way too long. I need to work on my assignments not wasting time. I am very fustrated on this issue.

I have tried everything, even using the link to get into my lessons. nothing. Please help me with this.
