Tried to remap caps lock key with a registry change, now getting "Windows 7 Build 7601 This copy of Windows is not genuine", even after reverting the change. Computer also seems much slower and all my efforts to validate Windows online have failed. RRS feed

  • The Key in use here is a Volume License Key - as such you should contact your organisation's System Administrator for assistance, as permissions for significant work could well be locked down, and we will not be able to assist.

    The basic problem appears to be hat Access is denied to some files - one of which is a critical licensing file.

    I suspect that your SysAdmin will elect for a 'nuke 'n pave' option.
