Remote Desktop - at install syncronization tick box missing

Question
-
My Remote Desktop shows unavailable with a yellow triangle. I have found out that during installation at the part where it says 'Add Computer to Mesh' there is meant to be a tick box which reads 'Enable Syncronization enhancements and Live Mesh Remote Desktop'
This does not appear in the dialogue box for me therefore I can't tick it. Why is this not showing up? I have deinstalled and reinstalled several times, I have XP and I am the Admin of my PC.
Can anyone help?

Hi, Richard. Sorry for the late reply.
Yes, when Live Mesh is installed on a home verson of Windows, which does not natively support Remote Desktop, Live Mesh still provides this functionality.
Since you have already tried reinstalling a number of times, the best that I can suggest is that you submit a bug report with logs. I suspect that there is something blocking the functionality - a firewall or your router - or that there is some sort of issue server side for your account.
How to Submit Bugs and Live Mesh Logs
Note that you may not receive a response to the bug report, though. It will be transferred to the internal system to be assigned to the appropriate development group.

It has been a while since I installed on an XP machine, so I can't remember if it shows the check box or not. I seem think that it doesn't.
How many machines in your Mesh and where do you see the unavailable status? Via the Live Dektop from another machine or the notifier on another machine in your Mesh?

Hi Steve
On my home PC (which is the remote desktop) in the notifier (on the task bar) I see the yellow triangle and when I hover my mouse over the computer name I get a message saying the device is unavailable.
I am using XP Home Edition (SP3) and read on another site that HE does not come with support for Remote Desktop or Terminal Services. I would have thought that the Mesh install would have provided this. I can only assume that people who see the Syncronization box are running XP Professional or Vista etc.
I only have one PC in the Mesh which is my home PC and I want to access it from work. When logged in from work I select my home computer and it also shows the yellow triangle and says it can't be accessed and to to check whether the remote desktop enhacements need to be installed.
These are somehow missing and I can't get them installed. The notifier does not give me an option to install them anywhere.
thanks
