Hello Microsoft Research/Microsoft Academic Search!
I am currently with EndNote, in their Product group, and have fielded a few questions lately about the current export formats available from your service. Since your BibTeX export delimits the Author's Last names within {braces}, it prevents the EndNote
software from being able to import those last names into fields, resulting in a broken import.
Additionally, the limitation of BibTeX when exporting non-ASCII characters is a concern.
Exporting to Microsoft Word offers the option to import as a source directly into Word, but this limits the information to effectively just Word.
Are there any plans, or can I potentially plant the idea, of adding an RIS export option to the Microsoft Academic Search functions? This RIS Export format is universally supported in the bibliographic software industry, and would lend a dramatic amount
of flexibility to your service, across the entire Bibliographical Software community.
(Google- "RIS Wiki")
Do please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Steve
