Windows Vista validation issue

Question
-
On my old laptop it went from not being genuine 6001 to 6002 after I had installed updates for sp1 & sp2 the trademark for windows is not genuine disappeared; however, it says 3 days left till automatic activation on they key widget. After trying to enter the code from the sticker i got another error code which was 0xC004E003. I clicked more information and it further states the software licensing service reported that license evaluation failed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I ran the mgad and got:

You need to change the Product Key to the one on the COA sticker on the machine's case (or inside the battery compartment), using the Change Product Key link at the bottom of the System properties page.
You may need to activate by phone.
