  • Hi Michael,

Does it give that error for any random location/country you select or just for your specific location/country?

If the error is not specific to your location/country then please confirm you have administrator privileges on that PC and confirm with your IT Dept (if applicable) that you don't have any network or system policy limitations (i.e. not allowed to Activate...so on) Some companies lock down their computers pretty tight and I just want to make sure we aren't trying to fix a By-design limitation.

If you are and Admin on the PC and don't have any policy limitations, give the below steps a try and then re-run a new Diagnostic Report.  I don't think the steps will fix the issue completely, but I do want to see if it has any effect on the Report results.

    1) Click Start button.
    2) Type: CMD.exe into the 'Search programs and files' field
    3) Right-Click on CMD.exe and select 'Run as Administrator'
    4) Type: net stop sppsvc    (It may ask you if you are sure, select yes)
Note: the Software Protection service may not be running, this is ok.
    5) Type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform
    6) Type: rename tokens.dat tokens.bar
    7) Type: cd %windir%\system32
    8) Type: net start sppsvc
    9) Type: slui.exe
    10) After a couple of seconds Windows Activation dialog will appear. You may be asked to re-activate and/or re-enter your product key or Activation may occur automatically.

    Thank you,

  • Hello MSchadler,

Since you have not describe what problem you are having with Activation and given the error code 0xC004C533 usually suggests an issue while activating over the internet, my first question is have you attempted activating by Phone?  and if so, what happened?

    Thank you,
