  • Is there anyway someone without a computer science degree can remove Brave Sentry.  I visited a website and suddenly my computer started doing a microsoft office type install and was requesting my office CD, I kept canceling it and left the website to find Brave Sentry and some other software had installed itself on my computer.  I have not been able to open internet explorer since.  I read just about everything on the internet and tried various tools with little success.  I also purchased my computer online a small company that builds computers, I did buy my Microsoft OS but of course was not sent a disc as I was part of some multi-license deal so I cannot boot from a CD.  I have looked at some of these anti-virus softwares but personally do not trust that they can fix my computer.  I was hoping Microsoft would have some type of solution as they are the market leader in home computing.  I really don't want to manually edit my registry but it seems like this may be my only hope.  I would like advice from someone who has actually removed this virus from their computer and not from someone who does a google search and sends me the links they found, I have already searched google and nearly every option on it.  Experienced advice is what I seek.  Thanks in advance.

    Sincerely,

  • This is not a general malware removal site. If you go to http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/ or http://www.aumha.org/secure.htm you can get help from malware removal specialists.

Bleepingcomputer has been a useful site, the tutorials are very interesting.  I tried A2 Free to remove Brave Sentry/Deluxe Communication with no success.  I have been working with McAfee and it has given me some hope though it has not managed to delete deluxe communications from my computer.  Ad-Adware SE and Ad-Aware Beta 2007 have not worked.  Spy-Bot Search and Destroy has not worked.  The file that cannot be deleted is C\Windows\System32\dxclib303562752.dll Nothing has been able to remove this file.  I tried Killbox pointed at the Deluxe Communication folder and it failed in all modes and on reboot as well.  McAfee recognizes it but fails to remove it.  I even rebooted from my windows XP home edition CD that came with my computer and it took 40 minutes to install and that didn't work.  All programs offer to remove on reboot but cannot.  Trying to remove the files seems to damage my network connections as well.  I lose internet and have to connect via wireless though my LAN is connected.  If anything worked I would buy it.  I would much rather watch shows on the internet than on my TV and I have been without streaming video for a week.  What a bummer.
