My Dell computer is one year old and it came from Circuit City where they downloaded all the programs. Included was Windows Live OneCare installed on my Windows Vista. I let my OneCare expire, so I went to renew. I did not have a previous hotmail address that I could remember, nor could I find any documentation of what the CC guys used for passwords, etc. I created a new ID and password, and they confirmed that. So, I tried to start out as a new customer, and it was acknowledged that I paid my $49 via my Visa card. Also, I removed my old OneCare from my programs. I cannot find a way to get the new purchase activated. There is no path. There is no email to my new or regualar email address to allow me to click on a link to download the OneCare. I am interested in getting the antivirus and firewall that I need to keep my computer in good shape.
Go to onecare.live.com, click on free trial. Follow the on-screen instructions for the installation process. Once it's done, restart the computer. After restarting, Oen windows Live Onecare, click on subscribe, sign in with the new live id and password. It should take the subscription then.
