  • Yep :-)

I can reproduce this by logging in remote, then starting the Server Console from one of the client PCs (this kills the remote login console process - resulting is some error in the logfile mentioned?). Then close the Remote connection browser without "Logging Off" first.
As a result the WHS console keeps indicating that the Remote user is logged in.

I think the user currently logged in to Remote Access is derived from the w3wp*.log files in the Windows Home Server logfiles directory.
And there are at least two ways to reset (both worked for me):

    • Another Remote Access loggin, followed by a normal logoff/disconnect
    • Deleting the WHS logfiles using (using the Support Toolkit "Log Options" from the WHS Console)

  • Hello,
it's unclear for me, where it shows you that status. Maybe I overlook something, but I cannot see such information anywhere in the WHS console. So please clarify.
    Best greetings from Germany

  • When a user is logged in to the Remote Access web site there's an indicator in the lower left corner of the console. It's not clear to me where exactly the console is retrieving that information, though. I know there's a notification that occurs when someone logs in through Remote Access, and one when someone logs off (or is logged off through inactivity) but I don't see where the persistent information is stored.

Have you tried simply restarting your server? Have you tried recreating the user, logging in, and logging back off?

I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

  • i deleted the user then restarted the server or it may have been the other way around and it still showed up as connected.  i don't need that user anymore so i didn't recreate it but i guess i could try it to see if it works.
