I'm not a real teckie so I really could use some help right about now.
Because of a virus issue I had to reinstall Windows XP. It wanted to partion the hard drive and when it did I reinstalled Visual C# and everything else it came with including SQLExpress Edition but when I try and get access to the tables, it give me SQL error #26 which states
"An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)" When I try to go to the Surface Area Configuration for Services and Connections, it tells me "No SQL server components were found on the speicified computer. Either no components are installed, or you are not an administrator on this computer." I am the one who installed both the operating system and Visual C# Express.
I'm new to both Visual C# and SQL. Please help it would be greatly appreciated,
