Filter Apply Rules list in CRM 3.0 OR apply user rights on apply rules list RRS feed

  • Hello;

    I have created few event workflows in workflows manager in CRM 3.0, I am trying to apply security or filter them depending upon users. I don't all user to view those workflows in apply rules list so that they can't apply wrong rules without knowing.


    1- Filter out some workflows from apply rules list depending upon user, meaning apply user rights or security on the list of workflows.

    2- If security can't be applied on the list to limit the workflows to certain users, I want to check the Event name and then filter the rules which are not applicable to that event.

    Any help will be appreciated.

  • In CRM 3.0 you cannot apply user-level security of workflow rules, and I think your only option would be to write your own dialog box to replace the builtin Apply Rule dialog. This is possible but a fair amount of development work.

    CRM 4.0 does support user-level security on workflow rules, so if it's an option I'd conider upgrading to CRM 4.0
