Anyone know if communication server 2007 standard can do multi location video conferencing. I can not get a straight answer from anyone..Anyone have experience using communication server 2007 in this way. I was also told you can only do multi site vid conferencing using the enterprise version of comm 2007 server. and that standard only allows pier to pier video.

  • In our company, we use OCS 2007 standard for production. we can do multi user video conference by communicator client or LiveMeeting 2007, but only can see the host when he is speaking, can not see everyone in the screen, if want everyone can see each other, i think it must be use the RoundTable...

  • Just to clear this up the confusion might be from different information based on the technical support and licensing support for those features.

Technically: The Roundtable device will allow for multi-video streams embedded in the data, while multi-party video conferencing with normal web cams will display only the speaker's video at one time.

Legally: An Enterprise Edition Client Access License is required to use the Live Meeting-based Web Conferencing features, but with just Standard Edition CALs users are licensed to have peer-to-peer audio/video communications.
