Workflows not working ! data import are stuck Dynamics CRM 4.0 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I am using Dynamics CRM 4.0 installed on Windows 2008 server.

The workflows have stopped working and the data imports are stuck. I have checked and restarted the ASYNC service multiple times. Also when I try to view the workflows link in the left hand panel when opening a workflow I get a sql timeout error message. I checked the logs and it refers to authentication ticket not being valid.

It appears the ASYNC service might not be able to get to the crm server but we have a single server install. The only other change we made recently was to turn our installation into IFD installation.

I have also checked the deployment properties table and it has the correct values for ad root domain and sdk domain. I did install the rollup 10 to see if that fixes the issue.

The only other thing to mention here is that we have DNS entry in addition to the server name to access CRM.

I have just found out that the CRM webserver and the dns entry has a conflict.

The server is crmserver1 and the domain is mydomain.com

so the fully qualified domain name becomes crmserver1.mydomain.com

the guys have also created a dns entry with the same name to allow CRM to be accessible as IFD.

    could that be the problem

    Can anyone help.

  • Multiple DNS entries should not be a problem. Provided that the ad root domain and sdk domain entries resolve to the correct IIS server and that the web site in IIS uses the correct host headers then it should all work.

If your ad root domain and sdk domain values refer to crmserver1 then that is what the hostheader should be for the CRM web site in IIS.

Did anything else change when the workflows stopped working?
