cd not working in windows 10

The computer says that the cd is installed, but it does not work. Cd goes into bay, and that's it. Help.

In the left lower corner right click on the windows icon.
On the menu left click on device manager.
Look to see if there are any icons over the items that may indicate any malfunctions.
Look for your DVD/CD-ROM drive and expand it.
Right click on it then view device status to see if it is working properly.
Click on driver. Check to see if it is a Microsoft driver.
If it is a Microsoft Driver then uninstall the driver and reboot.
It should rebuild the driver.
Then check to see the performance of your cd player.
Another step:
Type reliability into the search box.
When the reliability control panel opens view it to see anything that may explain your current problem.

Well you don't really install a CD if we're talking a Compact Disc. Can you tell us what the CD is for and what you're trying to accomplish?Monday, April 10, 2017 7:12 PM
