Windows 7 Not Genuine! RRS feed

  • I've recently resored my Acer Laptop using the recovery disks I burned using the preinstalled application and now Windows 7 Home Premium is saying it's not genuine. I've run the MGADiag but not sure what it's telling me. Any help would be appreciated.

    Odd - your machine looks like it was one of the first machines to be produced after Win7 went RTM - but you say that the Recovery disks included SP1? - or have you updated the machine since the recovery?
     
    Either way, your problem is that the OS for some reason cannot properly read the BIOS SLIC table on which it relies to self-activate the OEM_SLP License in use here.
     
    You need to change the Product Key to the one on your COA sticker on the case, using the Change Product Key link on the System Properties page.
